Spring is here! After a week I’d sooner forget involving Ofsted and stresses galore - it’s beautiful here in St Leonards.

@teacherhead Just been through two days of it. The amount of time it has taken away from planning, delivering extra one-to-ones, helping colleagues and marking NEAs is enormous. Oddly enough, students have had their teaching week (and beyond) impacted negatively by the timing 🤦‍♂️.

The whole nonsense of inspection needs ripping down. Emperor’s New Clothes. It’s all horseshit - reaching valid/reliable high stakes judgements about a school based on a short visit by strangers who couldn’t do a better job but presume to judge. What a job .. demoralise a community of professionals with zero responsibility for the fallout and then leave, spouting crap about being champions of disadvantaged children. The delusion of it. 😡

Marking mock exams in Brighton today whilst my dear other half goes to the hair salon. IKEA next, then back to Bexhill to get the papers finished.

The crap thing about being in A&E by yourself is no one to go and get you anything to eat or drink. I have only had a piece of toast and a coffee today so far. Daren’t go anywhere in case I get called.

@artdeco_fan There’s something about the deception and dishonesty that doesn’t sit well with me, despite it being performative. The idea of ‘murdering’ people too - it’s not great. I fully get the irony and camp, but I can’t enjoy it.

@Jonathan747 With things that are hyped up and mentioned endlessly i'm automatically put off. Plus the whole premise is unhealthy i think. Don't we have enough treachery in the world just now?

I think I am nearly unique by being a bit disturbed by The Traitors. Can’t really watch it and don’t like it. And yes - I am aware that it’s a televised parlour game writ large. Still - no one died and it made people happy.
