Meralco PowerGen denies that SPNEC, the company it acquired from Cong. Leandro Leviste, is the subject of the P24-billion DOE penalty. This contradicts Leviste’s claim that the company he sold is the one being fined by the DOE. @gmanews

Meralco says Cong. Leviste's companies sold a total of P22.259 billion worth shares to MGEN Renewables, the renewable energy subsidiary of MGEN. "The agreements and transactions for the sale took place in stages from late 2023 to early 2025"
