@roropsych What's your take on more recent advances in behavioural psych like relational frame theory?

@roropsych I found this too when admin were shocked many PhD students were getting A to A+s in my stats class. If students learn to apply and conduct analyses well, there's little barrier to getting higher grades. TBH I see that as a pro. Might be worth asking them to report in APA style

Is reflective reasoning always better? In "Bounded Reflectivism..." (2022), I argued that #cogSci data show reflection is NOT always best: doi.org/10.1111/meta.1… Another #AI paper finds this: intuitive #LLM prompts were better for "common sense" tasks: doi.org/10.48550/arXiv…

@byrd_nick Interesting take! I see it as a cool construct but 6 has an almost circular logic (strong guilty evidence + other info = guilty verdict), can be interpreted in a few ways (e.g., the prioritisation you read into it), + it's a compound statement (which is usually psychometric hell)

@JonathanDowlin The question seems to be asking if the “strong evidence” is prioritized over “other aspects” of the case (which could undermine or even falsify the claim that the strong evidence supports). Such tunnel vision about one piece of evidence could indeed be a cognitive bias.
