@xSoloTrades @mkurman88 My Claude can be like that too. It makes me want to spend time striping back my hooks and .mds, to sry to make it smarter, even though it's at like 18% context and it probably won't make a dent. Codex has been cutting through, but sometime opus is amazing.

@mkurman88 Bro, today Claude is a literal potato. I've been deep in the trenches using Claude Code like 14 hours a day for the last month with such great success and today it can't perform the simplest things

I just canceled my Claude subscription. It couldn't resolve a straightforward issue for 3 hours, even though I pointed out several times where the bug lies (I was afk, so I couldn't do it by myself, but that's not the point). I asked Codex to fix it -> 1 minute and done. I asked Codex to review other things Claude made - with GSD, 20 steps, discussion, plan with research, execution. It has been working since Saturday. And what? Everything was faked. I don't get it...

@ilshadyX @svpino They can when the tool a 24/7 compsci tutor and ask lots of questions about the code that it's producing, I've learned more about programming in the past 2 months then any 6 months prior

@svpino aI can lower the barrier to starting, but it does not erase the need for judgment, architecture or experience. tools can generate code but they cant generate understanding

Last year, I met a person who has never written a single line of code in his life, yet he feels he can build anything he wants. He told me point-blank: "I challenge you to tell me something I can't build using AI." I tried to explain, but I couldn't find the right words. The most fascinating aspect of vibe-coding is how it has convinced so many people to believe they are better and more capable than they really are.

@I_found_myself_ @trikcode If agents disappeared I'd still be a lot more technically skilled than I was before, though I would in all likelihood more frequently fun into software problems that took more time than it was worth to me and would go back to pursuing other things, we all learn best with a tutor.

@JonathanHobman @trikcode Fair point, the debugging problem predates AI. But learning faster with agents is exactly the trap. You're gaining speed without building instinct. The day agents fail you, what's left?

@I_found_myself_ @trikcode You're building a different kind of instint, you're able to opperate and build at a different level. Agents fail me all the time, code fails people all the time, hardware does less so, power does even less so. You look for a fix and try again.

@I_found_myself_ @trikcode Most teams don't know why until they have a dig, even before AI, can't they ask probing quesiongs their agents, they'll know how to check up the pipe? I was very barebones with my coding language fluency before ai and am learning a lot faster with agents

@trikcode The crash must have already been started. It just looks like 'my app stopped working after an API update' and nobody on the team knows why. Vibe coding is great for prototypes, dangerous for products
