Here's what I've found, again and again: There is something underneath it. And it is not what you're afraid of. It's the antidote to fear: the love, contentment, freedom, peace and truth that you already are.

Fear of what they might find if they really look inward. Fear of losing the identity they've built. Fear that there's nothing underneath it.

Fear is the Greatest Block on the Path What stops people from awakening isn't lack of discipline, the wrong teacher or the wrong technique. It's FEAR. It's always fear, and it's ONLY fear.

The goal of shadow work isn't to fix the shadow. It's to stop being controlled by it. When you can see it — really see it — it loses its power over your choices. That's when freedom begins. Questions? Drop them below. 👇

You can't do shadow work by reading about it. You need a witness — someone who can see what you can't yet see about yourself. That's a core part of what I do in therapy and spiritual mentoring.

What Shadow Work Is — and Isn't Shadow work is a misunderstood terms in the spiritual space. 1/ The "shadow" is the term Carl Jung used for the parts of ourselves we've pushed out of awareness. Not because they're evil, but felt too dangerous, shameful, or too painful to see.

Where in your life are you performing peace instead of feeling it? Sit with that question. That gap — between the version of yourself you show the world and the one you actually live with is where the real work lives. No judgment--curiosity! Jonathan Labman, Simply Awake

The Relationship is the therapy: The technique matters far less than most therapists, mentors and coaches will admit. What heals people isn't CBT or DBT or EMDR. It's being consistently seen, heard, and not abandoned. The relationship IS the therapy. simplyawake.com

What happens when you commit to a therapeutic or mentoring relationship? The greatest predictor of therapeutic change isn't the technique. It's the quality of the relationship between therapist and client. Show up, persevere, and results come. More at simplyawake.com.

I've been a therapist for 25 years and on the spiritual path for 55. I'm still learning by sitting with things I don't fully understand. The guides who tell you they have it all figured out? Be careful of them. The path is ongoing for all of us.

Simply Awake is for people who have tried: → meditation apps → self-help books → therapy → retreats And still feel like something is missing. What's missing? Not more information. A real relationship with someone who walks the path. You'll find it at simplyawake.com

Thoughts That Hurt People: 90 to 99% of your thoughts are false! Not your fault, just how the mind works. The question isn't how to think better thoughts. It's how to stop being enslaved by falsehoods you hold now. What's one thought you believe that's not actually be true? 👇

Enlightenment without human functionality is NOT the enlightenment for the 21st century. Both spirituality and practical human skills are needed to live a happy life. I can help you with both. Find me at simplyawake.com

To function optimally as a human being, you need to heal and awaken your left brain hemisphere and your right one. The left helps you function as a coherent human, the right helps your connection to spirituality. I help mentor you into this awakening. simplyawake.com
