It's probably already been pointed out, but a lot of these "gatekeeping" guys already just don't like trans people and would be posting transphobic stuff regardless. The whole "they called us pedophiles" thing is just pretense.

This post is aimed towards everyone in my own community. I know a lot of people hate me currently, and this is not meant to change anyone’s mind. If you think I’m a scumbag, go ahead. It’s solely for those who care, and that’s all. First, me and Chibi talked in DM’s. I apologized to him for shit talking him in public, and we sorted out our real opinions. No, I obviously was not saying he’s a criminal, nor do I think he’d be one in the future. I was specifically talking about optics, and what image he’s choosing to associate himself with, and how that would certainly cause even more people to go after him. But I’ll refrain from talking about him anymore on Twitter in the future, unless of course I absolutely have to. But for the initial post that started this entire mess? I do not apologize for that. Most people don’t know this, but the same people who’ve gone after Chibi have also gone after me on multiple occasions. They consistently use Soyjak images of caricatures getting hanged, along with death/rape threats and other vile language. So to see someone on my side use the exact same imagery I got angry. I was under the impression that while fighting back against anti’s was good, we had lines we didn’t cross. That while gatekeeping is necessary, death threats (or something I interpreted to be a death threat) were over that line. I may have overreacted at the time. But after seeing someone post about how we should send child gore back to anti’s I am genuinely worried about the direction this community is heading, and how that line may shift depending on how radicalized people get. If you disagree with this, that’s fine. I’m don’t plan on commenting on or policing people in the future. It’s not my job. I only posted that because I felt I was personally responsible for sending them there, even if the person they were replying to may have deserved it. If your trust is damaged in me, so be it. It goes both ways. I am severely disappointed at how this situation unfolded, because it did not need to be a public spectacle at all. Regardless I’m going to take a break from Twitter, and am contemplating just leaving it. Not just because of the haters, but for my own mental health too. This site has consistently been bad for me. Even if I had a lot of fun, it shouldn’t be my life, and the fact that such a nothing statement turned into a “civil war” is proof of how crazy it is. So I’m going to focus on my real life and family for now, and if I do come back, I’m gonna keep it to anime and comedy related posts only. Thank you, and bye.

@JonathanMacke14 @VollereiFan @BloomingAcelin @The_Weeb_Crew Like I say time zone is still at play here just because you don't have the lockdown happen and all of you is busy doesn't mean everyone within the fandom is busy like you so it's basically like one country playing the game at different shift

@termofserv2 @VollereiFan @BloomingAcelin @The_Weeb_Crew Yes, and we managed to reach the 1 trillion fans as Cygames reduced to total requirement for the whole global server to 500 billion to compensate for the fact that unlike the JP server, the global server was not facing IRL restrictions like the Covid lockdowns.

@termofserv2 @VollereiFan @BloomingAcelin @The_Weeb_Crew The top Umadol event initially required 2 trillion total fans, since it started on a Monday, people were at work, compared to Japan where it started on a Weekend during Covid lockdowns meaning JP players had more time to dedicate to the game and the higher overall player count.

@termofserv2 @VollereiFan @BloomingAcelin @The_Weeb_Crew Coming from someone who actively plays Umamusume, the community seems to be doing fine, once you look outside of the few bad apples, it is just the usual stuff. Is it past the honeymoon period? sure, but in decline, not really. Like how is it in rapid decline?

@termofserv2 @VollereiFan @BloomingAcelin @The_Weeb_Crew There was also that one (just one) Discord mod who was on about the whole shipping drama prefering UmaxUma over TrainerxUma (and banning people for unknown reasons) and you know what Discord can be like, especially the official ones (or so I have heard).

@BloomingAcelin @The_Weeb_Crew Thats the thing, if there are problematic people (and with all fandoms will be problematic people), you just need to move on, gatekeepers seem to be allergic to the idea of just moving on, they feel that they need to protect their franchise.

@JonathanMacke14 @The_Weeb_Crew It's funny cuz with Genshin I have a blast talking about the game with all the Fatui fans lmfao. I have not once interacted with THAT part of the fandom that they like to use as an example. We see some shit like "All Dottore fans are sexual abusers", laugh at it then move on.

@BloomingAcelin @The_Weeb_Crew They have the mindset that if they do not gatekeep, then the community they try to "protect" would collapse, using Hoyo, Uma etc, as examples of "fallen" communities because they did not gatekeep like BA. I bet that they have not interacted with other communities.

@The_Weeb_Crew It's disingenuous bitchmade shit. They're so spineless that they want to lie to themselves that they're just "defending their turf" when simultanously saying all the exact same shit as other rightoids. They fool nobody with a functioning brain.

@Ouchi5f1 @SusVincar @LatrellC_0 @B_Rabbit843 What you posted is futile, you don't get to dictate who is/isn't allowed to be part of a community, if they are problematic just ignore them, if they spread misinfo, then correct them and if they do not budge just move on and ignore them, you do not have the final say.

@db22es3 @JureatP Ah yes. Allowing the Insane Troons & Faggots who do that in the other Fandoms like Grooming Company, Masectomy Umamusume's, La Pastel Flags Guilty Gear, Etc. Those 'Communities' truly are in GOOD place huh. 👍[Sarcasm.].

@whadashaa @I__HATE_SOCCER The problem rn is that MANT is the meta hell, you cut all events, all endings and if your Uma can't run in 3 distance types she's never reaching a S+ The Oshi Dark Ages

@samminustakes @B_Rabbit843 The Dragon Maid one is almost a decade old, get new material. And how do you know that the people you label as "tourists" only watch the anime provided in your second image or match the description in said image?

@samminustakes @B_Rabbit843 "Identity Politics" like what? not to toot your own horn, but localisers to not have that much power, they are not like Grima Wormtounge from the LoTR, where they can somehow force the higher-ups to make certain changes as they would need their approval to make certain changes.

@JonathanMacke14 @B_Rabbit843 The most recent ones are localizers that skew original author's intentions and tpurist who demanded changes based on identity politics. But if you claim yourself not terminally online then good for you. You better stay away from this cesspit of an app for your own good

@samminustakes @B_Rabbit843 Sorry for not being terminally online, but where has there been cases of people trying to demand "destructive changes" to anime? also there will always be "bad actors" in any fandom regardless if Covid had anything to do with it.

@samminustakes @B_Rabbit843 Covid caused people to stay indoors because of lockdown regulations meaning that they needed something to do while they were stuck indoors. Also nice downplaying Covid to "my hobby is ruined because people needed some form of entertainment because they were stuck indoors".

@B_Rabbit843 Because bad actors weren't as vocal back then as nowadays? Those who demand destructive changes to the medium? Especially since covid?

@elvenmaidinn @MadamLaconic Wha....? OK, how are they relevant to why you read manga? Sure, there are stories that have themes tied to Japanese culture, but do you expect a series like JoJos, Frieren etc. to have these thing that you say makes them special? maybe to some they are just a good story.

Lets start with respect for elders, followed by respect to people who do their job, from teacher to cleaner. Respect to more experienced colleagues in work. Respect for work of other, Japan culture frown on eating and walking - because someone cleaned streets and dropping garbage on streets is disrespectful towards their work. Dedication to craft, even simple thing as making noodles is considered an Art of Crafting and Japanese masters spend entire life focusing just on perfecting that art. Imagine any US school or EU school kids cleaning their own classes - Standard in Japan. Do you want me to continue? or you fishing for something specific?

Naaaah. Bo "Fans" not asking for globalisation, only Tourists do. Anime Fans know that Anime are great because Japanese values and culture differs from our own. That what makes anime appealing, they can tell story. Globalisation is about sterilisation and erasing identity, to making everyone the same, that will destroy Anime like it's destroying Western Animation.
Think Before You Sleep@TBYSTweet

Great! Because we all know what the fans have really been asking for is globalization of the anime and manga industry. We are all excited to see anime not just created by Japanese people but by people all over the world. Let's stop gatekeeping anime guys. Lead the way Garnt!

@GeniusSociety01 @BA_fterbirth @Zerovoice595 Most of the comments point out that people are accusing the person you qtw of being a larper (i.e. they don't even play the game) and the fact that they do not play games just to goon to characters, I don't know the general context, but that is hardly toxic.

@JonathanMacke14 @BA_fterbirth @Zerovoice595 ??? Most mainstream gacha fandoms are filled with these types like Uma here and of course most of the hoyo games. These types also cheered during the recent Guilty Gear strive and Fatal Frame censorship. Most mainstream shonen fandoms are like this too
