My #SteveWright book is probably only going to be number one in Radio Entertainment books on Amazon for about three seconds so I’m posting this pronto!

@TheCinesthetic There’s a great cut in a Bond movie, Diamonds Are Forever. We see a model of an oil well on a map of Baja California. As a character asks what is its significance we cut to a lovely wide shot of the real oil well in the bluest ocean

Yes & a lot more destructive power & accuracy with far fewer planes required. Returning to history & numbers: few realize that, altho the B-17 is the fan favorite, the B-24 (as you show) was produced in far greater numbers. See also Hurricane vs. Spitfire in Battle of Britain
Seth Frantzman@sfrantzman

A lot of air power Although during WWII the US had tens of thousands of aircraft in the fight, some 300,000 produced I read ; 18,000 B-24s; some 3,000 B-29s; 12,000 B-17s; 9,000 B-25s…etc

Thanks Linda - I like it too! First I looked at the covers of similar books to mine, then mocked one up on Canva, and then asked a professional to complete the job. Unfortunately he’s been so successful he’s moved onto bigger things but his design sensibility really improved it

@JonathanRuffle Wow, your book cover is amazing! It really makes me curious about the story. I can tell a lot of thought went into this, such impressive work!

Sad to hear of the passing of the remarkable Len Deighton. Bomber is a brilliant book.

Unpicking the Nazis by following the money
Eligio R. Montero@EligioRMontero

@DrHelenFry It deals with the economic perspective of the war from the Weimar Republic to the end of the conflict, focusing mainly on Germany (but also addressing the global economy). Very technical at times, but very interesting.

Yes, Manchester's is a fantasic book. My personal favourite, The Wages of Destrucrion by Adam Tooze.
Andrés Izarra ✊@AgIzarra

@DrHelenFry I’m surprised. Manchester also has a great bio on Mac Arthur, “American Caesar”. Cheers.

@JonathanRuffle @bfbshatch @BFBSRadioHQ I just ordered your book on Amazon 👍 I began listening to Steve in 1987. I would run home from school every day to listen to his Radio 1 show. Steve was a titan of radio & we were lucky to grow up with him as our radio friend. Steve's passing still affects me today 😥

I haven't been a guest on BFBS since 1991 when #Radio1 broadcast from HMS Tamar in Hong Kong! Such a pleasure talking about #SteveWright's extraordinary legacy today with Richard Hatch on the BFBS Afternoon show. My book about him is on Amazon @bfbshatch @BFBSRadioHQ
