I have often said that decarbonising heat is the biggest challenge of the energy transition in cities, but this new report from @BPIE_eu makes the case that climate adaptation and resilience could be the most urgent challenge. loom.ly/u8tvYX8

This is the largest heat pump in the world (60MW). It is located in Esbjerg, DK and provides heating for 100,000 people. The heat pump replaced coal-fired thermal generation using Denmark's electricity which is 2/3 from wind and solar.
