@JohnVaillant To be fair, America indicted the orange one on multiple counts, jailed many of his supporters and convicted him on, what, 34 counts of various frauds and cons. And then turned around and elected him. They deserve whatever they get.

@politicalham One would think that at least one of the majors would read the writing on the wall and find a way to ride the wave instead of drowning. I know there have been some fitful efforts (ARCO was an early builder of PV, remember 'Beyond Petroleum'?), but none of these efforts lasted.

BlockBuster saw Netflix coming from miles away. Even thought about buying it. In the end management misjudged how disruptive streaming video would be. Well-managed, profitable companies fail all the time after being disrupted. Oil companies aren't immune. And they're disrupted.

Project 2025 wants to eliminate Title 1 funding which helps low-income families, roll back Title IX provisions which prevent gender and sexual orientation discrimination in schools, and cut the Head Start program (which benefits rural kids). Insane how this = family values.
