We must carve out the Sub-Saharan peoples by their tribal names for they differ from North & East Africans. Niger-Congo people, Bantus etc. this will bring clarity

Europeans never invented writing either. They adopted it from the Phoenicians who adopted it from the Egyptians. Many African cultures also adopted Arabic script from Arabs & wrote quite a lot in Arabic before the arrival of Europeans. But somehow, that never counts as “writing”
