I'm asked, why specialise in eventsourcing and front end? Answer: front end was one of the first microservices.

DDD's biggest adoption problem is 'six blind men and an elephant'. Many developers encounter parts of DDD, often the patterns, and find it confusing because they can't see the whole. This becomes worse when developers form cargo cults around the parts of the DDD 'elephant'.

@BenBeattieHood I think the only reason I didn't was because I was expected to hand it down. Haha.

Write in books. Always. Unless you disrespect the book and would want to get rid of it. 📖📚

Hey @JonnLouieDev great to see you involved in the #mobprogramming experiment. Would love to know if you think you could find others to work with last month, and join from your region? Happy to help give you material to promote it with :)

Spent a few hours of the morning mobbing with some great devs from around the globe. Good learning experience and enjoyed collaborating with others! The event's still running for another 20 hours and you can still join in!

Biggest lessons: 1. Mob programming makes Open Source more approachable.👋 2. Mob programming keeps coding social, which makes it fun! 🙌 Overall 8 strangers connected tonight in a comfortable, safe environment. 4 made their first-ever Open Source contributions!

One of the biggest problems with business software is that architecture gets promoted to more significance compared to the model. Most models are ordinary, and could be implemented by school students for a lot less cost than the 7-9 figures spent on the ordinary ones. 1/7

Honestly, a lot of free software is free as in *piano.* It's right there. Nobody is stopping you. You could totally spend hours of painstaking labor getting it carried up your front steps or built from a clusterfuck of diffs and patches or whatever. Everyone knows you won't.

There's something so magically delightful when after years of mental noodling, you finally unlock that abstraction that makes it all fall into place. Then the flood of easy work that flows from that unlocking abstraction. It doesn't get much better than that in programming 😍

Or maybe it isn't worth the investment, and like in the article, HTTP's really just all you need for most of these services.

What's been on my mind lately is how you can build towards this if you can't afford to adopt it all wholesale, or if there are bits and pieces you can get value out of without buying into the entire thing.

Challenges with CQRS-ES: steep learning curve, finding the right tooling, and managing distributed services. I still feel like it's an ideal solution for any sufficiently complex system spanning multiple domains. @thestartup_ link.medium.com/L05hAxBOY7
