Cheech took pride in updating his notes every night when he called Canucks games. He would watch highlights of every game that night & update his colour coded handwritten notes for each NHL team. He also had a running list of the PxP broadcasters he worked with in his career.

We lost a gem in John Garrett. 
Always smiling, always ready with a joke - on you or himself. He always made time for people. I’ll miss the texts, the laughs, and the chats about life in North Delta. My deepest condolences to John’s family & friends 🙏🏽 Rest easy, Cheech.
