@theblockspot Bo Nix will always be disregarded because he made so-called experts look bad. And he will make you look bad again. He'll win a SB before everyone you listed higher than him, except for maybe Allen and/or Maye. Mahomes already has won many so I'll leave him out of the equation.

@rodrerickshanet @DrJesseMorse @InjuryExpertz Dude he plays the Quarterback position. This isn’t a throwing shoulder injury or elbow injury he’s fine.
English

@DrJesseMorse @InjuryExpertz Since he brought up how he's done this twice before, it made me think: is this the beginning of the end for Nix?
If you keep injuring the same ankle over and over how much longer can you keep doing it before you have to call it quits or it becomes debilitating in everyday life?
English

OK, so after reviewing all the different plays that Bo Nix could have injured his right ankle on, here’s the conclusion I’ve come to.
He originally injured his right ankle in 2021, requiring surgery a couple days later. While specifics were never released, my suspicion is he probably had a fracture that Dr. Norman Waldrop (likely) fixed.
For the first three years of his college career, Nix played at Auburn. Famous Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Waldrop have been known for many years to cover both Auburn and Alabama football as either team Doctors or consult consultants. Hence the connection. Wouldn’t be surprised if Nix texted while dripped after the game with the new information and he said hey, I can squeeze you in on Tuesday.
The majority of my pro athletes patients all have my cell phone number.
Additionally, maybe someone can provide clarity, Nix dealt with issues in one of his ankles a little over a year ago at the end of the 2024 season, requiring arthroscopic surgery to “cleanup” his ankle in January of 2025. See his @InjuryExpertz injury history below. I wouldn’t be surprised if Waldrop didn’t do this as well.
While we don’t know if this was to his right or his left ankle, my suspicion is the play that it occurred on caused a significant amount of stress to the right ankle and right fibula bone. This then caused a fracture in a previously fractured bone or an area where the plate and or screws were not able to contain the stress, thereby causing a new fracture.
There’s a reason why one of my favorite phrases as it pertains to sports injuries, is that “the greatest predictor of future injury is past injury.” I wholeheartedly believe this statement applies to this situation, and if Nix hadn’t had previous issues with this ankle in the past, the play in question wouldn’t have led to a new fracture.
Hopefully, we can get clarity soon.
It was just an unfortunate turn of events, especially since it was heading into the most important game of his career.
Now the quarterback that recruited him to Auburn, Jarrett Stidham, gets to try to finish the job and help when them both a Super Bowl ring.

@KFivioo @DamonStrik @HighAsTy Bo Nix Legacy is “if he played in the AFCC” 😂fucking loser. That’s what happens when you draft an old ass QB with joints of an 80 year old 😂😂😂

Just got off the line with Sherm!!! We setting it up!!! And I got the numbers!!!

I would invite anyone from the Broncos no fly zone secondary to come on to the pod and have the conversation about why they believe their secondary was better. I love @ChrisHarrisJr and @AqibTalib21 games and they are two of the best to ever play the position. But I need the numbers that support this notion.

@MayeFlowerFan @yortnr88 @JamesCa30586345 @KelbermanNFL Maye had the easiest strength of schedule since 1998 and it showed.
English

This is what having an agenda looks like.
Bo Nix could walk on water and his critics would say it’s because he can’t swim.
Not saying he’s the best QB in the NFL, but there objectively aren’t 17 better than the one who took his team to the doorstep of the Super Bowl.
The bias against him is beyond played out.
Zack Kelberman@KelbermanNFL
This is preposterous
English

@MayeFlowerFan @KelbermanNFL Is Clutch Gene a statistic? Maye played horrible all playoffs meanwhile Bo is out dueling Josh Allen. Who came back from a 21 point deficit against Drake Maye in week 15.
English

@chrgrscursed @MileHighRado @KelbermanNFL Are we really comparing Bo to Hebert? A 2nd year QB vs a 6 year QB that hasn’t won a playoff game? Bo Nix has a clutch gene Herbert doesn’t have and that’s winning meaningful football.
English

@MileHighRado @KelbermanNFL Never beaten Justin Herbert head to head and put up worse numbers this year behind a marginally better o line. There’s levels to this qb shit little dude
English

@Stain_06 @rtreywrld @MileHighRachel HE makes his Oline better by getting the ball out of his hands. Maye just stands there like a statue zero pocket awareness.
English

@rtreywrld @MileHighRachel saying all that while he plays behind the best OL in the league makes u look retarded

@noah_buckley @MileHighRachel Maye had the EASIEST schedule since 1998
English

@down31291319 @DrJesseMorse It’s terrible he holds onto the ball way too long
English

@DrJesseMorse Definitely doesn’t excuse his god awful pocket awareness.
English

Drake Maye received a pain-killing injection into his shoulder before the game.
Likely either Toradol or Cortisone.
Healthy players don’t receive injections.
Did his shoulder impact his decision-making not only in the Super Bowl but throughout the entire playoffs?
I wouldn’t be surprised if the answer is yes.
Compare his numbers in the regular season to the playoffs and they’re night and day.
Hats off to the Seahawks elite defense, they pressure Maye at a high-rate and Maye struggled to adjust until it was too late.
Get healthy kid, you have a BRIGHT future ahead of you.
Mike Reiss@MikeReiss
QB Drake Maye acknowledged that he received a pain-killing injection for his right throwing shoulder before Super Bowl LX. He made it clear he was “ready to go”; at the same time this adds some context to what he was managing injury-wise.
