@SportsGuysIowa @DanaBecker Ultimately this day and age of social media if you're a standout ball player you'll be seen by someone. I think this column is great, the transfer portal is good for all parties. The raw D1 talent will get some time to develop at an NAIA or D2 level without riding the pine.

The Basketball Portal taketh away from High School Boys Basketball in limiting next level opportunities, but gives more positives than negatives sportsguysiowa.com/the-basketball… We took a deep dive into the recently released Iowa Boys 4A State Basketball teams from @DanaBecker and checked where each senior is headed in 2027 to play BB. Only a few young men are headed to D1 this fall off the All State teams. The Portal is driving the level of play at Iowa NAIA, D2, and DIII colleges and JUCOs higher and higher as fewer opportunities exist at the D1 level for freshmen.
