I will watching this with interest. I remain deeply sceptical of OFCOM's ability to be robust and proactive enough on challenging terrorist content and hate. Only recently even in Northern Ireland there are a number of accounts that should be shut down for promoting violence or terrorism. I will be taking this forward with the relevant UK Govt departments.

Unreal, we're looking at serious problems facing Northern Ireland right now from the security situation, to health and education. Facing into more disinterest from Westminster and the DUP message today is writing a letter regretting that the "leverage" of the collapsed Exec is no longer in play and talking about unionist unity whilst completely disregarding Reform of Stormont at a time when we need stability for NI for all future scenarios. My priority is working with and for all communities here and making life better for us all- I only wish others shared the same outlook. People in Northern Ireland are not a bargaining chip or leverage. Clearly no lessons learnt.

That speech that the PM just gave is broke.
Not on the money and cosplaying his way through what he thinks the main characters want to hear. It wasn't passionate, it wasn't fresh, it didn't speak to changing the damaging economic policies that have harmed my constituents- it wasn't just wide of the mark, it was up in space. This place desperately needs a strong & clear unifying vision- it's clear the PM cannot provide it.

The irony in this is beyond belief. When I see what happens to those who were deployed in the midst of a sectarian terror campaign in Northern Ireland. Stuck between IRA and loyalist gangs. Forced into riot situations in which split-second decisions had to be made, it makes me realise the statement made about this incident in London isn’t just ironic; it’s the height of hypocrisy.

I’ve just been interviewing @Keir_Starmer for @BBCr4today who says he met the police officers who tasered the suspect in the Golders Green stabbing “I want everybody just to imagine what it might be like. You're trying to arrest someone who has already attacked two people and has no regard for life. We know that tasers were fired. I know from my own experience with the police, that there are only two shots in a taser, and once you've shot them, there's nothing left. There's a guy on the ground, he's got a rucksack on. And I don't know what was going through the mind of those officers, but if I was there, I'd be thinking, he's going to detonate something. He's going to blow me up and everybody around here. In those circumstances, I think you can quite see why what could have gone through their mind is, we need to do whatever we can to disable this guy." He added: "Now, when I then see Zak Polanski come out and retweet or support a criticism of that, I think it's disgraceful... He's not fit to lead any political party."
