Red Sox need to stop being cute with the DH position. It should be Yoshida every single day except against *some* lefties.
He's one of the few truly good bats on the roster. It's an injustice he's only at 108 PAs this year.

I’m not gonna condemn Yoshida as a player for being someone he isn’t. He’s a good hitter. He should play

@JordanLeandre55 It’s because the way teams are structured you need to get a lot of your power from the DH slot. The Sox aren’t getting much power from anyone except Contreras so it’s even more glaring.

I don’t really know why this is used as an insult when the Red Sox biggest issue is offense.
Would it be nice if Yoshida was a 30+ HR guy? Absolutely. Are the Red Sox at liberty to not play a top 4 hitter on their roster? No!

@JordanLeandre55 The Yoshida cult is still alive. He's a DH with no power no speed. A singles hitter that walks a lot.

@JPPlunkett Not much in the way of pop, but offers some defensive versatility. Really good swing decisions and steady batted ball data.
Nothing jumps off the page as far as tools go but he's a smart hitter who currently is sporting a .392 OBP in Worcester.

@JPPlunkett Durbin has a 35 wRC+ right now I really don't think any of the 40 man options except for maybe Cheng could be a worse hitter.
Defensively, sure. But you can't just keep him in the lineup because you're scared of getting worse defense.
