INTERPOL agents have captured Yoel Alter, an alleged member of the Ultraorthodox Jewish group Lev Tahor, following an extradition request from Mexican authorities. Alter is accused of human trafficking and is now facing legal proceedings for his alleged crimes.

What type of characters do we all need to lead teams, companies & governments then? The ones who are able to blend with cynics without becoming one, those who can sit to play cards and laugh among cynics, they will always defeat cynics in any game because cynics are predictable.

Why more than ever? Many reasons: moral reasons being only one, we don't want a world full of garbage. But legal reasons will sway your pockets better, every single object you ever sold is evidence of foul play and consumers have voice. Lawsuits accumulate, reputation evaporates.

What is a good alternative then? Protecting the reputation of our products above all things of course! Then the obvious path to expand company's value is to expand its reach beyond all borders, a strategy to widen user/consumer base or market share requires to push other fronts.

Electronics, mechanicals, any appliances… if infused with any type of poison or defect, customers will find out for sure and will never forgive the insult. Even less so when done on purpose, e.g. any trick for premature expiration. At the 1st opportunity they will switch brands.

France has taken a bold step by making planned obsolescence a criminal offense — meaning companies can now be punished for intentionally designing products to wear out early. If manufacturers deliberately create electronics or appliances that fail sooner than they should- whether through weak hardware, software updates that slow devices, or other built-in limitations, they can face serious consequences. Penalties include up to two years in prison and fines of €300,000, or as much as 5% of a company’s annual revenue in major cases. The law grew out of France’s consumer-protection efforts and was strengthened after investigations into phone slowdowns revealed how software could be used to push people into buying replacements. But this isn’t just about punishment. It’s part of France’s wider “right to repair” movement, which aims to reduce electronic waste, stop hidden forced upgrades, and encourage companies to make products that last longer and can be repaired more easily. By cracking down on disposable-by-design goods, France is sending a strong signal to manufacturers worldwide: build products to last. The goal is a more sustainable system where items are repaired instead of replaced helping both consumers and the planet.
