One thing that cracked me up though was when the ojisan emphasized specifically that my Japanese is way better than that of the French people who frequent the bar in question.

Last night while walking home, three guys (one ojisan, two in their 20s) asked me if I wanted to drink with them. I love a side quest, so I said yes. Regretted it real quick. The reward (one free drink) wasn't worth being asked several (!) times about my gender. Oh well.
