Micromanagement is lazy. It trades short-term ease for long-term failure. If your org has micromanagement problems, you need to step up and teach management how to actually do their job. The problems will only compound if you ignore the issue.

So Twitter keeps changing things on us, but you know what? Like a Golden Retriever we are going to keep swimming. We asked to be part of the Twitter audio program but were told no- so we did it anyway and deliver educational and free audio shows twice a week. (For an entire year and counting.) We asked to be part of Super Follows and were told no, so we did our own thing and built a vibrant community called The Paw Pack which is thousands of times better anyway. We had a dream to make a stuffed animal of Bunsen and now we have Bunsen, Beaker, and soon to be Ginger stuffies. (A portion of the proceeds is sending kids to science camp). We had an idea to publish a book. Publishers said no. So we self published and figured it all out ourselves. (Texts From Bunsen should be arriving next week!) Our podcast has grown to have an amazing following. We’ve brought scientists with tiny followings on our shows and shown the world just how freaking cool they are. We wanted to keep people connected so we started a Substack Newsletter after Twitter canceled Revue and now Substack links are banned. But we found a way around that. From a farm in Canada with terrible internet we are showing that anyone can learn science, and care about animals if you do it through a lens of empathy. Thank you to everyone for your support! We won’t stop! LA LA LA Undeterred.
