Another milestone in the Denmark–Rwanda collaboration was marked on April 27 with the launch of a Global Health Hub, bringing together the University of Rwanda, INES–Ruhengeri, the University of Global Health Equity, and Aarhus University in Denmark. Beyond academic collaboration, the Global Health Hub aims to put knowledge, innovation, and research findings to more meaningful use, to address the health challenges our communities face every day.

Interesting discussions and looking forward to this partnership
University of Rwanda@Uni_Rwanda

A new chapter for global health! Today, in partnership with @ughe_org, @INES_Ruhengeri, and @AarhusUni #Denmark, we officially launched the Global Health Hub in #Kigali through a strategic quadripartite partnership. This hub will serve as a powerful platform for advancing collaborative research, academic exchange, innovation, and policy engagement while strengthening health systems in Rwanda and beyond. By bringing together local and global expertise, the initiative positions Kigali as a growing center for knowledge, solutions, and impact in global health.

Very happy to be home attending the Nordic Baltic Forum, organised by the Rwandan Embassy to the Nordics and the Rwandan Embassy to the Baltics, together with HillsConnect and Remode, supported by RDB and TradeMark Africa. Grateful to the Ambassadors of Finland, HE Theresa Zitting, Norway, HE Tone Tinnes, Sweden, HE Dag Sjörgen, Deputy Head of Denmark Mission Peter Eilschow Olesen , Lydie Hakizimana , Honorary Consul of Latvia to Rwanda, and to the 250 participants who contributed to the rich and forward-looking exchanges during the forum. This platform continues to demonstrate its value as a space where companies, academic institutions, and public sector leaders come together to explore partnerships and strengthen collaboration between Rwanda and the Nordic–Baltic region. Building on the momentum of the first edition held last year, it is encouraging to see the good progress being made on the partnerships initiated during that first gathering. The forum continues to serve as a catalyst for dialogue that is now translating into concrete engagement across sectors. It is particularly inspiring to witness a growing number of new cooperations being forged between companies and academic institutions, working together on initiatives that serve societal needs and foster innovation, knowledge exchange, and sustainable development. Special thanks to the Ambassador of Sweden for the warm cocktail that beautifully closed the day, and sincere appreciation to HillsConnect, Remode, RDB, and TradeMark Africa for their valuable support. Looking forward to continuing to turn dialogue into impactful partnerships.

Universities drive development research and knowledge sharing. Biomedical science is advancing fast with today’s technology and Africa must empower young researchers to lead the way. Grateful to the Government of Rwanda for a peaceful environment.#BrainWeek. Prof. Mamoun Homeida

Exciting….

⚠️Long but exciting post⚠️ Heard about @cornwinegusa yet? If not, allow me to put you on coz this one deserves all the flowers, and I get overly excited when it comes to #Rwanda-n artists🫶🏾 This brilliant creative agency is the brain behind +250 (Abiri n’Itanu), a bold collective launched last year to take Rwandan creativity to the world. Music is the heartbeat of the movement, but the family goes way beyond musicians...think producers, fashion designers, photographers, music video directors, documentary filmmakers… the whole creative universe under one roof! And now? They are doing something really special. They are working on a documentary tracing the evolution of music in Rwanda and its role in shaping our social fabric. The kind of project that gives you goosebumps just thinking about it. I loved the reel! They are currently calling on the community to help build this legacy by sharing archives, old photos, videos, memories...anything that helps tell our musical story 📸🎞️ Honestly, I love initiatives like this. If you are anything like me and feel excited just reading this, do not stay on the sidelines. Be part of history. 📩 Reach out: rwanda@mamagstudios.com 📞 Call/WhatsApp: +250 788 408 767 Rwandan creativity, preserved and amplified, this is how culture lives on 🇷🇼 #RwandaToTheWorld

Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my colleague, Beata Mukarusanga, the Counselor at Kepler, from cancer we thought she beat. I asked her a few days ago how she was holding up and she said “I’m fighting until the end.” A compassionate woman, who approached therapy with a holistic approach. A researcher whose time was a gift to us. She was working on projects to help students, especially our most vulnerable. Condolences to her husband, her children and her family. Imana imwakire imutuze aheza.

I also had a bit of trouble understanding what “metrics of measurement” was being referenced here. If we scaffold development in different parameters then we’ll see that some have developed in some areas while declining in others. Of course not at the same pace…

The Meiji & Deng models show that modernization requires coherent & practical strategies that preserve national identity. Many African states lack pragmatic national purpose & are trapped between imported ideologies & patronage systems missing urgency to “modernize or disappear.”

Visited @RwandaMuseums#KandtMuseum — to revisit a traditional songs recorded early days by colonial explorers. When I returned with a colleague for a project, I was told the flash disk was stolen, maybe by students (I hope they’re using it). We need to guard our heritage.
