@richtidwell Correct, then we can see when Jesus states my sheep hear my voice. Who are his sheep? Obviously not edomites but were the physical descendants of Israel.
THIS 👏
It all becomes abundantly clear when one considers the fact that the Pharisees openly declared to Jesus “we are Abraham’s descendants and have never been enslaved to anyone” in John 8:33. As we all know, the Israelites were slaves in Egypt and were commanded to continually remind their sons of this fact in Deuteronomy 6:21. The fact is, Jews simply would not have claimed they had “never been enslaved to anyone” as these Edomites who claimed to be Jews were boasting.
Josephus notes that there were three religious sects in operation during the life of Jesus: the Pharisees, the Sadducees, and the Essenes.
Christians ought to be familiar with all three as the Pharisees and Sadducees regularly contend with the Lord in the Gospel narrative.
Likewise, the Essenes were made famous by providing us with the oldest surviving Biblical texts known as the Dead Sea Scrolls in the caves of Qumran.
Crucially, Josephus notes in his work Jewish War (2.8.2) that the Essenes alone were “Jews by birth.”
Consequently, he is simultaneously confirming the outcome of the events surrounding Herod as recorded in Antiquities (14.15.2). When the Pharisees and Sadducees had been slaughtered (Ant. 14.9.4), they were then replaced by Herod’s supporters, including Edomite converts who “say they are Jews and are not” (Rev 2:9).

@JosephG1982@richtidwell And I believe that Mary made it out to France. With kids. Have you read The Holy Blood, Holy Grail? It's old but brilliant. I read it when it first came out, that's how long I have been studying this stuff.
@DrAlanKurschner Read John 11:47-53
51And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
52And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
Are the Tribes of Israel Lost?
Some say 'yes' and poo poo the 144,000 prophecy in the book of Revelation.
I say 'no'.
TRUST THE TEXT.
They may have been lost to human history, but not to God.
But there is evidence emerging that they have not been lost.

@DrAlanKurschner The Greek word for lost is apollymi meaning to be put away or punished. God put away and divorce the house of Israel but be regathered and reunited into the new covenant. The new Jerusalem in rev 21,22 is symbolic of the regathered 12 tribes of Israel being glorified
