[🟢] BREAKING: Xabi Alonso is ready for Liverpool. If Liverpool submit a concrete offer, he will accept – provided his conditions are met in advance. These centre on his influence over squad planning. A year ago at Real Madrid, he had agreed despite his wishes (a proper centre-forward and a central midfielder) being dismissed before signing. That will not happen again. His decision to take over at Real ahead of the Club World Cup in the summer – against his own convictions – also proved to be a valuable lesson. After a 0–4 defeat to PSG in the new FIFA tournament, he was already under pressure before preparations for the 2025/26 season had even begun. That is why taking over Liverpool for the final stretch of the league and Champions League campaign is not an option for Alonso. He was dismissed by Real in mid-January.
