@jumpn_jo @knux333jw @KremlingLady1 Yes, the Donkey Kong arcade was the start of everything. But, Miyamoto and Nintendo decided to separate Mario from that series and put him in his own. The Punisher and Daredevil were both Spider Man characters and they got the exact same treatment.

They decided to make Donkey Kong his own series after a few Mario games came out. It’s literally the original spinoff. The arcade might’ve been called Donkey Kong, but it’s still a Mario game.
