@_Jase_The_Ace_ @intlmandotcom Great to see other kiwis reading Doug and Co’s work - sometimes i think its just me haha. If only others would realise the govt is the cause and not the solution to the vast majority of our problems

@intlmandotcom Great article. The current administration here in NZ is at least holding back (for now), we aren't seeing the weekly or daily "podium of truth". Your points remain true. Unfortunately we are already seeing a lot of Sheep screaming for state intervention now.

The New Zealand fuel crisis rationing plan is not even a particularly radical one by contemporary standards. That is precisely what makes it worth scrutinising carefully. It is the latest iteration of a governance model that has been quietly consolidating for decades: the state and large capital as co-administrators of the economy, with small business and the individual citizen positioned as residual claimants on whatever resources remain after the primary beneficiaries have been served. Call it economic fascism, corporate statism, or crony capitalism — the label matters less than the mechanism. And the mechanism is, once again, hiding in plain sight inside a document described as emergency planning. Full article below.

The possible next Prime Minister of Israel, Naftali Bennett, says the U.S. could face another 9/11-style terroist attack unless Americans understand why they must fight wars Israel demands. He says terrorists could even nuke the United States of America without Israel being an ally. “I was in Manhattan when it happened. I saw those buildings on fire.” “That’s what happens when you say the Middle East isn’t our problem.”

This is an interesting thread. Jump in and watch how Horton wriggles around when pressed on debating with structure and guardrails. He challenged me but is now objecting to a structured debate. @mdubowitz You should have insisted on structure. No, I won't do an unstructured session with him in which he filibusters and floods the zone with excessive claims and arguments. I'm not proposing an odd premise - I want to argue that Iran has Pan-Islamic, hegemonic ambitions for the region. I'm looking to argue their intentions - and he's wriggling. it's wild to watch.

To prepare for the possibility of running out of oil storage space at Kharg Island, Iran has brought NASHA (9079107) out of retirement. She's a 30yo VLCC that's been anchored empty for the past few years; currently spending 4 days on a trip that should take 1.5–2 days. #OOTT

U.S. negotiators are sitting down with a regime in Iran in its weakest position in 47 years. After the severe degradation of its nuclear and war-making capabilities, it had one last card left: Hormuz. Now Gulf states and the global energy industry will accelerate efforts to reduce dependence on the strait. And over time that blackmail lever will disappear. What remains is a regime facing economic devastation and a country where 92% of Iranians despise it. The clock is ticking on its inevitable demise.

@nxthompson That's bullshit. It's the economic strain of inflationary money and endless war - and mass migration from other civilizations from the other side of the planet. Of course the Atlantic, run by an IDF prison guard who LIED about Iraq's ties to al Qaeda, blames freedom. Fuck you.

“Over these past 70 years of progress, our culture has moved in the direction of autonomy, individualism, and choice. This has generated creativity and freedom, but it has weakened the bonds between people and the elemental commitments that precede choice—to family, neighborhood, faith, and nation.” A fascinating piece from @DavidBrooks224 theatlantic.com/magazine/2026/…

@lilantdog1960 @mdubowitz Its not what they couldnt do before, its what they have done that you cant undo…. You wont re-establish those destroyed bases and u cant open the strait. You can block hormuz under a ceasefire, but once the shooting starts again ur ships are sitting ducks and will scadaddle…

@ObamasMansion @lilantdog1960 @mdubowitz No one doubts America’s ability to destroy a country and kill millions of people… we saw that in Vietnam, Afganistan and Iraq - all 3 of which were colossal strategic defeats for you.

@lilantdog1960 @mdubowitz 13 US bases inhabitable, proven US cant protect GCC states, theyv closed the strait and charging a toll (im sure u lap up that they’ll reopen it militarily) and the threat theyll destroy significant oil and gas assets upon US escalation.. How do u think US have the leverage?

“Fourth, carry out a final barrage of leadership strikes, eliminating the Iranian officials who had been spared for the purpose of negotiations. Iran’s leaders must be made to understand that their lives literally depend on reaching a negotiated settlement to Trump’s liking. If they refuse to do so, they will be killed.”washingtonpost.com/opinions/2026/…
