@Bunkybowers @mcooperargus Largely depends on further overseas recruitment plans that aren’t full GBE eligible and need to use an ESC slot. With Koz possibly transitioning to free up a slot end of August, we’d have 1 free again at that point, but if another is needed, Le Roux will be sold.

@PompeyWeilian @NorthStandRory I had him on 14 too but with % of available minutes, he sits on 74.5% so far. But, there’s a provision for the club to provide proof that in some matches he was on bench as part of rehab and I think he was GW 19-21 & was subbed off injured in final game.

@PompeyWeilian @NorthStandRory Jesper Ceesay would be GBE eligible, yes. I can see a world in which we bring in another DM (possibly Ceesay), and then move Le Roux on to free up another ESC slot.

@NorthStandRory @JoshClements36 I assume that we'd be freeing him up if we bring in Jesper Ceesay. Ceesay must be GBE eligible as he's 24, but bringing in another DM is the end for Le Roux

@Palmrick_pfc Those who have been here for 12 months (Le Roux) vaguely need to play 40% mins in that time frame and I can’t see it happening with him. Wouldn’t mind keeping him around, but not sure it’s wise if he’s not going to play the minutes to transition to GBE.

@Palmrick_pfc Yes, absolutely the case! Any of the current ESC slot holders can transfer (after one full registration period passes) if they play over 50% available minutes for us. Would imagine Shein will do that.

Reminder that if #Pompey get this done, Milovanovic will NOT take up 1 of the 4 ESC slots as he’s fully GBE eligible. GBE = 15pts Marezi = 16pts 🇵🇹 league(band 2) = 10pts 50% mins played last season = 6pts Great to see us finally using GBE markets where there’s no slot limits!

Shein not eligible for full GBE as he doesn’t meet the 15pt requirement coming from band 5 league (🇳🇴), despite his Estonia caps (🇪🇪 not ranked high enough in FIFA rankings). Milovanovic is full GBE eligible as per previous post below.

Any further overseas signings will need to be full GBE eligible, until an ESC slot is freed up by Koz transition or Le Roux is sold. Reminder under rule changes for 26/27 season: If ESC slot is freed up, any ESC signings now need to be U23 (born after 01/01/2003).

Portsmouth are closing in on the signing of Wellington Phoenix attacking midfielder Luke Brooke-Smith. It’s understood the clubs have agreed a deal worth around £400,000 for the New Zealand U20 international. Brooke-Smith, 18, has also agreed terms on a three-year contract.
