I’ve seen over 200 high school games.2 biggest things that bother me…kids that don’t pass & can’t find open players + turnovers, & secondly, coaches that let players just do whatever. You’re not doing your team or the player any favors. Can’t be scared to coach your best players

HIGH SCHOOL GUARDS: if you want to stand out among a EXTREMELY crowded field 1. DEFEND. The entire length of the floor! Do it aggressively! 2. Touch the paint FREQUENTLY! 3. Make open shots! Consistently! 4. PUT YOUR TEAMMATES in better positions! Often! 5. Make the post entry when it’s there! It will catch the coaches eye!

The most important word to a young player that wants to be great is selfless. Make the game about the team and not yourself. Lose any ego you have and replace it with being humble.

Lead guard play is at an all time low! Decision making is at the worst I’ve ever seen it and yet, we have more “trainers” now than the game we all love have ever seen!

We will be pushing back tomorrow night’s football game kickoff to at least 7:30. We’ll monitor tonight to see if we want to stay there or push back a little more.

The Hornet baseball game scheduled for today at Edmonson County is canceled.⚾️
