After 10+ years as a #caregiver to my dad who battled #Parkinsons and many months #writing and revising, I’m excited to share that Every Step Is a Gift has been published. I’m so very grateful for the support and encouragement to find my voice on a painful but empowering story.

In my 4,000+ mile bike ride across the U.S., I can confidently say that Wyoming was the state in which I felt least welcome. I hope to return proudly driving an EV with out-of-state plates one day.

Changes in my life will now have my home and work too far apart for me to bike commute, so today was my last bike commute - maybe forever. It was a nice day for it and I saw a bald eagle on my ride. But it’s sad to end it after 20+ years. I’ll miss it.

@JoshLasky @DCPoliceDept Don't know DC protocols but I know several MD agencies won't outline any evidence (crash or crime scenes) if they know it had been moved from its resting place. (Here, likely explanation would be if bystanders and/or EMS moved her bike while rendering aid.)

Why didn’t @DCPoliceDept outline the wheels of the bike that Shawn O’Donnell rode as she was killed? Investigators only outlined the location of the wheels of the Ernest Maier cement truck that ran her over. #bikeDC

A reminder, yet again, that #bikeDC riders risk our lives every time we take to the street. Greeted by a mangled bike under a cement truck wheel at 21st and I NW this AM arriving on campus. Came back later to see forensics on site. Really hoping for reporting and justice.

François D'Haene was first into the Maggie Gulch aid station (mile 87.1) with 18h24m elapsed, followed seconds later by Killian Jornet. The two looked comfortable, stayed less than three minutes and left together. They are 25 minutes ahead of clockwise course record pace. #HR100

I worry that would-be-Dem votes sit out of elections because they know the system is designed to give Republicans an advantage. The Senate, Electoral College, and lottery of the Supreme Court work in GOP favor. It’s been proven over and over that majority will doesn’t matter.

@davekarpf It’s the perception of control that drives people here, right? Digital spaces/worlds are attractive because we think we can curate our images/experiences into the ideal. The more “choices” we are given, the more options we are willing to pay for.

Zero faith in government to protect our safety, our health, and our climate at this point. Wildly disappointing. Not sure why I even glance at social media on days like this. It all feels like yelling into the void. Tons of wasted energy here.
