Tweeting at the intersection of my favorite things: transportation, Portland, land use, urbanism. Or as I like to call it: transportlandism.

Concept for new signage at the Moda Center, from tonight's Planning Commission hearing.

I'm not a fan of Portland's very restrictive sign code, so I'm glad to see that they're looking at changing it to allow video boards etc at the Rose Quarter portland.gov/council/docume…

@Qagggy Sister city to the enchanting exurb of Mountain Island Lake, NC.

@Qagggy Can we have a local artist make these more pretty? Or does it have to be that color just to get the attention of drivers?

@NWSPortland How did yesterday measure up temp-wise? When was the last time a high temp was this low in August?

🌧️PDX set a new daily precipitation record yesterday (8/31) with 0.55 inches of rain. This breaks the previous record of 0.52 set in 1961.
McMinnville also set a new daily record, with 0.72 inches surpassing the previous record of 0.50 set in 1997.

@joanbybike Also kulshan trackside cool place with bike track park in the midst of an old paper mill transitioning to urban hood. Good bike ride: meander Elizabeth park and Broadway park hoods over to Railroad Trail, crushed gravel Rail 2 Trail up to beautiful Whatcom Falls and Lake Whatcom.

@joanbybike Absolutely! Amtrak will drop you in Fairhaven, with a fabulous waterfront trail connection to downtown via Bay trail. Colophon Cafe, Boundary Bay, Farmers Market, Bagelry, all great spots.

Downtown Recoveries, 2023 Update 1. Zip code geog varies 2. Downtowns are distinct from regional trends 3. Downtown structure matters. Demand had to come from somewhere (work, live, visit) 4. Homelessness & crime patterns do not correlate to recovery oregoneconomicanalysis.com/2023/07/18/dow…
