@DanWolken I’m sure they do. But pro sports league owners didn’t get to that number out of competitive fear or the goodness of their hearts. Those shares were won with sacrifice and muscle that don’t exist here…at least not yet.

This might be where we end up, but it’s worth noting that the
a) the NFL doesn’t spend on stuff like scholarships
B) those 50-50 rev shares were won via collective bargaining AND the credible threat of a work stoppage.
College doesn’t have that!

It sounds crazy perhaps but the top athletic departments are at $200 million in revenue. In the NBA and NFL, roughly 50% of the revenue goes to the players. Do the math.
