@orthochick @orthochick great points. We know using alternatives to cefazolin for antibiotic prophylaxis increases the risk of infection (doi: 10.1302/0301-620X.101B6.BJJ-2018-1407.R1.). We need more cefazolin test dosing in the OR for PCN “allergic” patients.

Allergies -->increased immune response and thus greater risk for infection? OR, PCN/Abx allergy limits use and thus more infections? 😔
