Republicans are going to have to figure out a way to deal with two realities:
There is an issue with Islamist extremism and that there is a segment of immigrants coming to this country to defraud and destroy it.
And also
There are many more Muslims in this country who have been here for generations. Who have families and are valued members of their communities. And who we agree with on a lot of issues and could form alliances.
But not when we have Republicans in Congress saying Muslims have no place in our society.
