@anaesim totally agree. 1 - hitting the concrete is is being punched by the planet. 2 - the loser of a knife fight dies on the street, the winner dies in the ambulance.

@JoshStrifeHayes Every mma instructor I've ever met said the same things 1) avoid street fights and generally any fights on hard surfaces. Even if you win, you might get hurt bad 2) there is no winner in knife fight

1/🧵: Ex-Martial Arts instructor here with some input about this whole thing: -combat is scary, even when trained, sometimes ESPECIALLY when trained, because you know how quickly things can go badly. -the lad is surrounded and outnumbered, a terrifying position in combat. 1/x

@Ponvyr I was raised to respect the police, I still believe there are many officers doing good and keeping communities safe, but when mistakes are made (and we are all human and all make them), then owning them and appologizing happens. The police do not get to double down on mistakes.

'We have no concerns over the officers actions, please stop sharing this footage'. You watched 3 lads attack 1 lad, then arrested the 1. He didnt 'swing on the officer', fight or flight kicked in, he swung on whoever grabbed in, then stopped when he realised it was the police.

10/🧵 Combat is chaos, and policing chaos is hard. The public WANT to trust the police to keep them safe, but when the original aggressor is ignored, and the victim is punished, faith in the police falters. I used to believe the police protected. Now they are the biggest gang.
