3-time NCAA champ Rachel Heck is back at the ANWA this week, one year after her surprising announcement to remain an amateur. What has she been up to since? I went to Fort Meade army base to find out. golf.com/news/rachel-he…

PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp has outlined six themes that he says will guide the competition committee as they reshape the tour. 1. Late January to Early September season. 21-26 tournaments on a first track of elevated events with the best players competing for higher purses. Double the number of signature events and a second track of PGA Tour tournaments that ladder up to those events. 2. More consistent fields, moving away from small fields with no or limited cuts. Ideally, there would be 120 players with a cut. 3. Open the season with a big marquee event on the west coast. 4. Evaluating bigger markets like New York, Chicago, Boston, and Washington DC. 5. Scarcity is not about the number of events, but making every event matter. The PGA Tour is evaluating the role of promotion and relegation between two tracks of events with a merit-based system where players earn their way to the top with events that matter. 6. Exploring ways to enhance the postseason, including considering the implementation of matchplay to either the Tour Championship or a playoff event. Rolapp says the PGA Tour is looking to make more progress over the summer and have updates ahead of the Tour Championship. Changes will be implemented with a rolling approach and significant changes likely won't be implemented for the 2028 season.

Town & Country Club, the oldest golf course in Minnesota, boasts one of the most unconventional finishes in the country. It’s also a blast. golf.com/travel/unique-…

Four weeks ago, Anthony Kim told his former coach, Adam Schriber, "It's going to happen. My best golf is in front of me. You watch, it's good. It's just taking some time to get my confidence back." golf.com/news/anthony-k…

At Pebble Beach, one group of golf diehards is quietly in mourning. They're golf's Deadheads — Fluff Cowan and Gil Hanse among them — and after Bob Weir's passing in January, they're sure the Grateful Dead's legacy belongs on the golf course. golf.com/lifestyle/pebb…

I spent a few days in Dubai with Tommy Fleetwood talking dreams, doubts and dragonflies. Then went to Southport to see where it all began…and where it’s all returning in July. Cover story for GOLF Magazine: golf.com/news/tommy-fle…

Brooks Koepka is returning to the PGA Tour through a new “Returning Member Program.” He has already committed to playing the Farmers Open and the WM Phoenix Open. This is a temporary pathway that allows players to return if they have been off the PGA Tour for two years and have won a major or a Players Championship between 2022-2025. The LIV players eligible for this program are Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Cam Smith.

So - what would Brooks Koepka's hypothetical path back to the PGA Tour look like? An interesting wrinkle is that he didn't renew his PGA Tour membership after the 2022 season. So if he wanted to rejoin the Tour, my understanding is he'd need to formally re-apply — and then they'd rule on potential sanctions. Will be fascinating to see how the PGA Tour handles this. Seems obvious they'd want him back as soon as possible without setting a dangerous precedent. His non-member status could be a factor. New leadership could be a factor. The fact that Koepka didn't sue the Tour could be a factor. His existing status from winning the 2023 PGA could be a factor. I guess my biggest question is this: how set in stone are these suspensions and how much could they just make 'em up based on what they want the outcome to be?

It took two years, but we did it. Pat has a hat. Q. You're wearing a hat today. There a message in that? CANTLAY: Not at all. Like I've said a million times, the hat didn't fit last year ... we worked with them to make sure we had one, and we got one, so we're good.
