@Josh_calbert My son and I finished working out and a wave of killers started walking in. I was happy because my mindset was to play my son in 1’s so mentally I was ready but then they needed one and I let the “My dad can play” go to my head. Lord have mercy was I wrong.. lol.

Relationships matter! At the same time, Fran, some of these NBA international scouts are texting young ast coaches asking if they can take a kid, and if the coach says no, they won’t hear from those scouts again for three months. Bottom line: both sides need to do a better job.

My NBA international scouting friends are sick of the these young college assistant coaches texting and asking if a certain international player is good enough. They get an answer & the scout doesn’t hear from them for three months. Not a way to develop relationships. 🤷🏼♂️🏀👍🏼

Drew Gladstone will be the new head coach at Greenwich Country Day School - which entered the NEPSAC 4 years ago. Gladstone spent the last 9 years at Northern Illinois and Indiana. He was also the head coach at St. Luke’s School. Donovan Mitchell attended Greenwich Country Day - and the Donovan Mitchell Family Athletic Center was built 2 years ago.

It seems like now there are way more volunteer positions in college basketball. I respect it , but come on gas is $7, eggs and milk are expensive, and schools want someone to work 40+ hours a week for no money. Crazy times.

We’re asking coaches to volunteer with no real benefits attached, and calling it experience. But experience doesn’t pay rent, phone bills, or groceries. Come on bro.
