I was sad to see that Richard Simmons @TheWeightSaint has passed away. He had been sharing his stories on X lately, and sometimes I’d read them, but not every single one. Now I regret not reading more of what he had to say. He was the most enthusiastic soul. RIP.

@eliyudin I remember watching a British guest on Conan's show who would point out when the audience was silent as if it were bad, and Conan seemed ticked off and said something like Yeah but this is a show and you can't keep pointing out when they are silent like that. Conan is great.

@Lord_Arse I hate the ending to this movie. The fact that King considers this the be one of the best if not the best ending to any of his movies only confirms how bad of an ending it really is.

I am looking at weird place names in Canada and telling their history.
Today, it is a street rather than a town...Ragged Ass Road in Yellowknife!
For years, the road was known as Privy Road because of the large number of outhouses located along the street.
In 1970, after a difficult year prospecting, local resident Lou Rocher who owned six of nine lots on the road, said he was ragged ass broke.
That night, a sign went up on the road stating it was Ragged Ass Road.
The residents along the street decided to start calling their street Ragged Ass Road officially.
For years, local residents continued to call their road by that name even though city council did not recognize it.
Throughout the 1980s, Rocher clashed with the city over the name of the road, even blocking the street off so municipal employees could not enter it.
Tourists continually stole the signs Rocher made for the street. Eventually, the signs were welded to the posts and the city started selling replica signs.
Over time, the street became famous and Tom Cochrane named his 1995 album after it and included a song about the street.
Novelist Kathy Reichs, who a producer of the TV show Bones, set her next novel Bones are Forever in Yellowknife because of the road.
There is even a Ragged Ass Road Cider sold in Yellowknife.
Rocher died in 2013, and his street name continues to live on.

@DailyLoud I guess we're eating grocery store rotisserie chicken and unwashed grapes at the park than.

Celebrating 38 years since #NES was released in the U.S., how would you answer this question? For me, there 4 or 5 answers depending on the day.

@DavidWCochrane Rota inviting a nazi to the house is not simply an embarrassment. Every mp applauded. This is a complete and utter failure of the entire Canadian political class, from top to bottom, from the leadership to the far reaches of the back benches. #pnpcbc
