@AVMneil @DougAndGator971 I forgot about these,
Universally hated
😂😂😂
English

@EricsOpinion94 @RyanHanaWWP In the late 80’s, when the Kings went away from purple and gold, they moved to Black and Silver. Which was when the Raiders were in LA
English

@EricsOpinion94 @RyanHanaWWP So they changed their color scheme to perfectly match the LA Raiders 😬
English

@RyanHanaWWP Maybe because the color scheme is so close to the lakers they wanted to have their own identity
English

@Samuelsburner @wyshynski Harder in that the game is faster? Sure.
But the game had a much higher physical toll back then. Some hits now a days that get fines and suspensions barely merited penalties back then.
English

@Joshboor @wyshynski Both good players. I am not sure how everyone comparing this don’t realize how much harder this league is to play in now vs the 70’s
English

@CraigMaz1 @wyshynski I think the fear is (reasonable or not) that a team currently out of the playoffs could win a top 3 pick, then when the season resumes they could get hot, make the playoffs and win the cup.
English

@Joshboor @wyshynski Oh god no I think that’s overboard. I just don’t understand throwing the draft lotto in the trash when there is no downside to what they currently have
English

@CraigMaz1 @shankeracom @wyshynski I think the NHL is trying to get the draft out of the way because they have too many other problems to solve. This is the one thing that they actually have some control over. Everything else is at the mercy of this pandemic.
English

@shankeracom @Joshboor @wyshynski You don’t need to change the rules then. There literally is no rational to which is the issue in the first place.
English

@CraigMaz1 @wyshynski You must admit, this wasn’t done for some arbitrary reason. The NHL is trying to navigate a very difficult situation with no perfectly fair answer.
English

@Joshboor @wyshynski I understand that but switching the draft rules like this when for years teams have had to deal with the uncertainty of getting the #1 pick is just wrong. I’m a Sabres fan and people would’ve been pissed if they were gifted McDavid in 15 and rightfully so
English

@CraigMaz1 @wyshynski I’m not asking anyone to feel sorry for the Wings. I’m saying tanking was not DET’s initial strategy. They missed the playoffs with aging veterans with bloated contracts. This situation wasn’t created by tanking, it came from trying their hardest to compete.
English

@Joshboor @wyshynski “hasn’t drafted 1st overall in 36 years” because they went to the playoffs 20+ years straight, won four cups, and went to 6 finals please save tears for “long suffering wings fans”
English

@DetWings_3540 @wyshynski Correct. Proving my point that the Wings were not tearing their team down to tank. They fell to the bottom of the league despite how hard they tried to stay relevant. This wasn’t a designed tank.
English

@wyshynski Now they’ve been waiting for bad contracts to fall off and new prospects to develop. Just like every other team@does at some point.
English

@wyshynski After years of trading away draft picks and prospects the cupboard was bare, and they were still spending to the cap. You can’t sign free agents with cap space you don’t have especially when it still won’t make you a playoff team.
