Evangelicals have made an idol of evangelism. 🧵 1/16

AI is one of the few issues today that seems to truly cross ideological lines. Combing through the comments, I found no discernable pattern to the reactions of progressives, conservatives, evangelicals, atheists, etc.

On my second read of Blood Meridian. McCarthy is a master of prose, no doubt. But it's a reasonable demand that a 350-page novel give you something more than beautiful sentences surrounding episodic atrocity. There’s just not much story and no characters I care about. 🤷🏻♂️

Honestly, what has been most revealing about the Christian AI discourse is not the emergence of unassailable arguments, but that many critics rely on surprisingly liberal doctrine or have unwittingly adopted syncretism to defend a foregone conclusion.
