My Wednesday gripe: I have a problem with the current climate of the creative industry in college athletics. ADs think problems can be solved by just finding student interns. Folks that are required to do office hours and work games, but receive little to no mentorship or career guidance. Interns want a space to learn, but instead, are influenced to focus on completing deliverables. That's not to say that this happens at every school. There are a handful of schools that have tremendous leaders who constantly show that they care about the bigger picture. Actions > Words. Now, if you are a student intern and feel like you are in a situation like what I described above, my DMs are open to you.

The lack of humanity that has overtaken college athletics is a concerning trend. If you find yourself working for someone who fights for you, even when things go off course, cherish that and then emulate that. It’s becoming more and more rare by the day.

Understand that most schools don't give a fuck about you. You're a cog in a wheel. They will explain how broke they are while throwing millions into the surrounding support system. They will run you ragged and then give you free gear to compensate so they don't have to actually pay you what you are worth. JK, I'm so sorry dude.
