Less isn’t happening. Kelsey was the ONE player in the entire league last year that was cored and took the full super max. Not one other player did — Stewie, AT, Satou, Plum, etc. all came down to around the standard max. KM took the top possible amount, even though it meant an 11-person roster for the team. She’s been very open about wanting her bag and being unapologetic about it. AB is on record saying she’s the most frugal person of all time. Like Spotify with ads type of cheap. She is all about the bag, too. & She deserves it. She could demand that on ANY team. Then there’s Caitlin Clark — the one player of everyone who should never be asked to take less. Not happening. I can see a world where CC & AB keep their salaries aligned — similar to Stewie & Sab — and they might come in a touch under while keeping their salaries on par (e.g. $1.25 Million each)… but you’re never getting all 3 under a million. A one year deal is the worst possible solution — it means KM walks for free in 2027 and you get no return at all. I’m telling you… they’re gonna fuck themselves if they don’t grow a pair and do it now. Her trade value will never be this high again. Get some really good fits in on long-term, sustainable contracts to grow next to your two 24 year olds! That’s the path for long-term success.

Huge difference, actually. 🤣 One example: KM to the Valks for the 2026 No. 8 pick, and the rights to Janelle Salaun and Maria Conde. They need scoring and have ample cap space. We need young, athletic forwards with high ball IQ. There are 3 players + KK that are on affordable deals. Then grab your plus role players like Azura Stevens, Jess Shepard, etc. — players who fit lineups for size, shooting, and defense. There’s a million ways to build this with plenty of cap space to spare without KM 🤣

A lot of GM’s on here talking stuff that will never happen. @IndianaFever will try to keep team together as long as possible. CC $530k, AB $1.1 , KM -$1.4 can take up $3 mil of the $7 mil cap. Thats 43% which is crazy. $4 mil is left . That leaves $444m avg for rest 9, which is below average. Even with KK and 2 more rookies added, adjusted down to $3 mil left for 6 players , that’s $530k per. They need 3 min players for $900k total so rest 3 can get $730 per. Lexie gets $450k, Sophie $750k , new wing $750k. You have $230k to spare. GM’s need to get creative.

You cannot assume that Caitlin will take a paycut the assumption you need to make is Caitlin will take a Max in 2027 & a super-max in 2028 and then base your CBA arguments on it
