The congestion on Highway 417 resulting from laneclosures in the west end is unacceptable and extremely disruptive to drivers and also to residents in neighbouring areas. I've directed city staff to work with the Ministry of Transportation to significantly accelerate the completion of the project and restore all lanes to traffic. And while the construction is being completed, I've asked them to work with councillors including @laine_johnson1 and @tm_kavanagh to implement immediate mitigation efforts to improve traffic flow and reduce the impact on surrounding roads. This must be resolved as quickly as possible.  La congestion sur la 417 causée par les fermetures de voies dans l’ouest de la ville est inacceptable, autant pour les automobilistes que pour les résidents des quartiers avoisinants. J’ai demandé au personnel de la Ville de travailler avec le ministère des Transports pour accélérer considérablement les travaux et rouvrir toutes les voies à la circulation le plus rapidement possible. Entre-temps, j’ai aussi demandé qu’ils collaborent avec les conseillères Laine Johnson et Theresa Kavanagh pour mettre en place des mesures d’atténuation immédiates afin d’améliorer la circulation et réduire les répercussions dans leurs quartiers. La situation doit être réglée le plus rapidement possible.
