@heybonanos @NYMag This is probably a silly question, but what is this address for the resume?
English

Answered this ad; got the job; started on November 29, 1993. Thirty years later, I'm still at @nymag, after five editors-in-chief, five offices, and uncountable hours of the night work that was, indeed, required.
They misspelled "grammar."

English

@conz Definitely go to Argentina if you can’t get a closer appointment. Better to be assured it’s benign ASAP than to find out too late it wasn’t. I’m not a fan of being alarmist, but have also had loved ones (that are all fine now!) have to endure too much.
English

@conz Considering I had to pull my kid out of her Cinderella dance recital after she saw the Disney movie, I do not recommend. The Disney villains really do a number. Then again she loves The Nightmare Before Christmas, so what do I know?
English

@nuriapuntonet @S_Evangelina Cité des sciences et de l'industrie, for sure! It was my daughter's favorite spot. She loved the Pompidou and the playgrounds in the Marais as well. And she's still VERY proud of herself for climbing the Arc de Triomphe "all by myself."
English

@JournalistFritz @S_Evangelina planning a mini vacation with kids (4 and 7 yo) to Paris, so this is so heartening. Any tips for places to visit?
English

When I tell y’all I was escorted through CDG by an airline staffer like a star. She walked up to passport control & through security like, idk fam she can’t stand on this line, enceinte, and had me at the gate in under 10 mins. I later learned enceinte means pregnant.
Sandra E. Garcia@S_Evangelina
The French do not play about pregnant women. They simply won’t have it about us and I salute them.
English

@S_Evangelina We were in the Pompidou at one point and my 3-year-old wanted a snack. Obvs you can't eat near the art. A security guard took her by the hand, kicked a bunch of adults out of a nearby seating area so she could have a nice view while she ate, and then gave her extra snacks.
English

@S_Evangelina Wait until you see how they treat you AFTER you have the kid. The French are obsessed with small children. Spent two weeks in Paris in March (after going multiple times alone over the years) and was like OMG is my daughter a celebrity? Just giving her free stuff at every turn.

@FredaMoon One of my favorite LA 36 Hours was the one from 2015 that went micro and focused on Koreatown. It was honestly the perfect 36 Hours in LA and actually made me like the city for the first time ever. nytimes.com/2015/02/15/tra…
English

Sure, but who wants to read about the (unknowable) time lost to LA traffic? The best 36 Hours are a thrilling onslaught of the things that make a place itself. A pick-and-choose grab bag of temptation. An argument for staying longer than a weekend. A choose your own adventure.

Per the NYT you can land at LAX on a Friday at 3pm, get your rental car, get In-N-Out, drive to Venice Beach, rent a bike, do a 14 mile RT bike ride, and go for a swim in the ocean, all in TWO HOURS???? Just renting a car at LAX can take two hours

@EsmeMazzeo I have dyscalculia, which might be what you're looking for? It often comes with an increased talent for verbal skills/languages. People with dyscalculia often end up in writing-centric fields.

🚨 Does anyone else with CP have spacial issues/issues with maps and, difficulty with math? And sometimes get overwhelmed by graphs or busy screens? Someone once told me this has a name, I'm no longer in touch with them to ask....I always struggle to describe this. #Disability
English

@JakeSwearingen There's something deeply existential about this.
