I had an epiphany the other day. Since childhood (including before my Catholic days) I've stacked up a lot of promises to God. I've been tempted to rationalize breaking some of those on the grounds that they weren't solemn or public. But that's an obvious cop-out. However...

@end3of6days9 The sound that little punk makes when his face hits the cement is SO satisfying. When someone goes to heaven in the movies, they hear angels singing in harmony. But I'm pretty sure it sounds more like the noise this kid makes when planet earth knocks the entitlement out of him.

This concession stand worker spots a kid messing with parked cars in the lot — so he confronts the boy and tells him to stop. Instead of backing down, the cocky kid starts brutally mocking the man’s height, shoving him, throwing punches, and taunting him nonstop. The worker stays calm at first and warns the kid multiple times… then grabs his phone and tells the kid, “I’m going to get my sister over here to whoop your ass.” But the kid still refuses to back down. Then… the man finally snaps and shoves him straight to the ground. Be honest — did the kid have it coming… or should the adult have just walked away?

Listening to a streamer joking "we should start a [topic]-themed [genre]-band and I'll play [instrument]" and I'm like... Dude, what century do you think it is right now? Everyone just uses AI. You might as well play rotary phone for all the likelihood of anyone hearing you.

@JamesAFurey I have made very few professional decisions that were unequivocally right, but getting out of teaching in the mid-2010's, just before everything went to 💩, was definitely right. I can't imagine who would want to be a teacher today.

Teachers have simultaneously: A) been stripped of the ability to do anything about poorly behaved students B) been pressured to pass students no matter what C) been tasks with taking on more and more responsibilities that used to belong to parents D) been vilified and blamed for every problem in society. So…why the job dissatisfaction? It’s a mystery!

@FoundationDads Children who need to be taught by people with special qualifications are the exception, not the rule. For most parents, research, open-mindedness, and a good circle of friends are more than enough to cover the gaps in their own expertise.
