I’m begging nicely, I need a laptop to continue my tech and Web3 journey. If you can help, you’re not just giving hardware, you’re keeping one more woman in the space.

Women in DeFi Summit 2026 taught me something: Dreams are crowded. I came for knowledge. For community. And hoping for that laptop scholarship. Then I saw how many of us wanted the same chance. Like a needle in the ocean. #ineedalaptop

Nobody builds anything great alone. Stop trying figuring it out all by yourself. Let people in. let others be there for you. 🤍 That's what community is for.

On continuing some conversations from my session at the Women in Defi summit that time didn't let us finish. Two we didn't get to but kept coming up after: Question 1. "You've said founders who win in West Africa crack distribution before perfecting their product - how does that apply to women building their first Web3 product?" It is the same principle but start even smaller. Your first product won't be perfect but ship it anyway. This is because distribution teaches you what to build. You’d think you know what users want until you put something in their hands and they tell you it's wrong. Also, this is Africa. We don't have the luxury of raising $2M to build in stealth for 18 months. You need traction to unlock everything - grants, partnerships, visibility. So start distributing before it's ready. Building a tool? Get 10 people using the broken version. Their feedback = your assumptions. Building a community product? Start the group chat now. Don't wait for "product-market fit" to start talking to the market. The women who win are the ones who get comfortable shipping imperfect things and iterating in public. Perfection is costly. Question 2. "You talk about chasing real metrics over vanity - what's that lesson for women still figuring out their path in web3?" Answer: I’d advise that you track what actually moves you forward, not what looks good on Twitter. Real metrics when you're figuring it out looks like; 📍Conversations that lead somewhere (collabs, intros, deals) 📍 Skills you can now charge for 📍 Repeat requests (people coming back for your specific thing) 📍 Money or equity on the table I see women collecting certifications, posting motivational quotes, networking everywhere - but not building anything. That's okay but in the long run, it's vanity. Build something! When you're figuring out your path, it is very easy to lose focus and optimize for the wrong things. Measure progress by doors that open and skills that compound. Not the applause. Question 3: Looking back at your own transition into Web3, what’s the one skill you already had that you didn’t realise was the most important part of your stack until later? The answer is Content/storytelling. I remember I mentioned that every founder needs distribution. Every protocol needs adoption. Every community needs clarity. This is what storytelling is. When I came into the space in 2018 as a ghostwriter and was saddled with summarizing complex and bourgeois whitepapers into 500 -1000 words. I thought the technical people were the important ones. Few years down the line I found out that builders who can't explain what they're building die in silence. Understanding how to simplify complex ideas, position products, and craft narratives is THE skill for ecosystem building. The ability to take something complex and make people care about it? That's the goldmine! My ghostwriting background became go-to-market strategy, became content marketing, became ecosystem growth. I just didn't see it coming. Finally, girls and women in crypto, we need to start putting our foot down. We are much more intelligent and capable than this “secondary specie…..i will find a web3 boy or some idolo to show me the way” strategy we are playing. The space is flexible and permissionless. Go for it! YOU CAN DO IT!

Congratulations to all SheFi Season 16 Scholars🎊🎊 You are proof of what is possible.
maggie.shefi.eth@maggielove_

Six weeks ago, the women of @shefiorg season 16 opened their laptops not knowing what a wallet was. Last Thursday, they closed them with a funded hardware wallet, a first swap, a staked position, a pass through the metaverse, and AI running in their actual workflow. In six weeks. Nobody asked their permission. Nobody handed them a credential that said now you're allowed. They decided they were. The collage below is faces from every week. Women from every continent deciding this was theirs too, who say yes to showing up, and give themselves permission to be at the frontier. That's the whole thing. You can have whatever you want. But first you have to name it. They named it.

A lot of people show up at events without a plan… and leave with nothing they can actually use. If you’re attending any event soon, you might want to watch this first. Especially if you’ll be at the WID Summit tomorrow. 🩵🍷
