Otherwise, while it's not for everyone, I can totally see why sunshine is a lot of people's favorite mario game. I enjoy it a lot too. And I'm really shocked nintendo hasn't remade it yet.

I believe this is the third time I've completed sunshine. Definitely one of the more unpolished mario games, a couple extra months or even a year of development would've done wonders, but once you learn how to work around it's quirks, it's so much fun

Soda hop is the king of referencing rhythm heaven ds. The moai from moai doo wop shows up, the bandleader from frog hop shows up in the sequel, the inputs are pretty much exactly like lockstep, and there was supposed to be a jump rope rhythm game in ds that got scrapped
