Cassper’s biggest hit is a song I put him on… Cassper fill up FNB was headlined by Kwesta. He can’t go hit for hit with me, I handed him his first SAMA & he used it as a door stop. @DrPeppalive pinked it up off the floor & put it aside. 30minutes later he was performing with it!

Let's be real, Meet The Grahams was a terrible diss track. No bars, no rebuttals, not to mention a whole verse abt a fictional daughter. It was great for shock value but it had no actual substance beyond that I'd thank God for Euphoria but that Joel Hale Osteen bar is trash too

@lavidaNOTA The more you tweet, the more uvela. However in the same breath, being recognized by you probably holds little weight because if you won't find a way to sneak in how you made said artist's career, then you'll just bash them.

@ego_xander Depends on perspective. It's generally good because win or lose, it more often than not bring visibility and eyes on you. The listeners are anticipating your next drop. It's usually up to you as the artist how you harness the visibility. However bad if your next drop is mediocre.

@ego_xander Only asking purely because EVERYTHING he said about LA were subliminals. Nothing quotable. I stand to be corrected.

@ego_xander My question is, objectively what has Usi said about Lacabra that we should champion?

@TheEnvy__SA I aggree abd think the angle is a terrible one. However let's also not be oblivious to the fact that artists are backed differently. The budget is different. contractually it doesnt make sense for a label to back Tony the same way they would Nasty C by virtue of ROI. However,

It’s funny how some SA Hip Hop Artists are signed to Major Labels but still not touching Nasty C numbers…But when we credit him, suddenly it’s “label backing”🤣So what’s stopping the rest from doing the same numbers then? 🤔🤣🤣🤣

@Tyyrent Apart from the fact that this sounds dated, the artists in question aren't making this type of music themselves anymor, and not because it's bad no, this is an easily enjoyable song, however after close to a dacade the sound will inevitably change/evolve.

@mace_c_ Maybe because that's not a diss track? It would crazy for you to think he'd be baited by a subliminal. If it's Smoke be clear. Let's not use Katana as Symantecs to sway what Azishe is. Nothing more than a call out for Usi to be direct.

@okamstefon @manliketotem You mean like how Nasty has so many features with a handful of "them", how Stogie miraculously finds ways to work with Engineers/Prods like Homage, or how when Cass labeled Too American he had features with Game, Westside/C Veggies? Most recently Hxpe and Freddie? Please be real.

@Jpeg_RSA @manliketotem So why haven't they came back to get the rappers that won't have the "language barrier" problem? Why did Sho Madjozi go further internationally than any wannabe American rapper?

That's why I'll forever get behind rappers that sound "too American" or stray away from traditional rap because it exposes that SA doesn't care about the hip hop they think is the standard unless they wanna use it to shit on broers that try something different.

@okamstefon @manliketotem Because they wanted African native textured. Both those album are isolated by cultural significance. That's why, ironically BOTH said albums were reviewed, Artists were given credit for everything but their LYRICISM. Not because it was bad but because there's a language barrier.

@okamstefon @manliketotem Because Amapiano's most emotive element is the beat as opposed to rap/hip-hop being the lyricism. That's why the top 3 Amapiano greats of all time aren't even vocalists. Can we say the same about Hip-hop, local or globally?
