@MarianSmedley @Nishaobgyn Good point re emergency and I'm more than happy to be corrected! I'm too sceptical sometimes. However just a recent e.g. of a friend's experience in a public hospital where he observed management bend over for a racist patient contributed to my comment. I shouldn't extrapolate.

@JqSAV @Nishaobgyn No I disagree actually. Having worked in hospitals previously they are pretty good at not bending to racism in my experience. Perhaps a private hospital might but not a big teaching hospital. For a start there is no time in an emergency (like a ruptured appendix) to do that.

We, foreign doctors, will provide healthcare to everyone who needs it. Because we are doctors, first & foremost.

@MarianSmedley @Nishaobgyn The hospital would bend to the racism and find a white Dr for her. The same goes I suspect for any patient whether white or not, who expressed disdain for their treating Dr/nurses skin colour, the hospital would find the path of least resistance if poss. Not good.

@Nishaobgyn So if Hanson were to be admitted to hospital for some emergency treatment (like a ruptured appendix which happened to me a couple of years ago) will she refuse to be treated by a 'foreign Dr'? Not likely - and what wonderful treatment I received from a mixture of nationalities
