CFB SEASON PREVIEWS: Toledo Rockets - Jason Candle enters year 11 as HC at Toledo. Mike Hallett & Vince Kehres return at OC & DC. They complete one of the most experienced G5 coaching staffs in the nation. - Toledo brings back 60% of their production from last year ranking them 48th nationally in Bill Connelly’s returning production numbers. Toledo also has the 2nd ranked portal class in the MAC & 79th in the nation (15th ranked G5) according to 247Sports. - Incoming offensive transfers include, Christian Medlock (OL) from NIU, Chip Trayanum (RB) from Kentucky, Jonathan Harder (OL) from Cincinnati, Kenji Christian (RB) from NC A&T, Trayvon Rudolph (WR) from NIU, Anthony Boswell (OL) from Purdue, Terrence Moore (OL) from Pitt, & Jacob Peterson (TE) from Holy Cross. Peterson is a nice TE pickup 499 yards, 6TDs, 14.3YPC last season. Rudolph averaged 10.6 YPC on 37 catches, he could be a breakout WR. Harder & Moore brings in P4 OL talent & size. Trayanum can be a solid RB1 if given the opportunity to get the ball which he didn’t get at UK. - Some offensive Toledo players that graduated or headed to the NFL draft include, Anthony Torres (TE), Jacquez Stuart (RB), Jerjuan Newton (WR), Allen Jones Jr. (OL). Part of the reason why Toledo needs Peterson at TE & Rudolph at WR to be so effective is because Torres & Newton accounted for 3,859 receiving yards & over 40TDs over their career as they now move to the next steps of their career. - Returning on offense includes, Tucker Gleason (QB), Cole Rhett (OL), Ethan Spoth (OL), Carter Fouty (OL), Junior Vandercross III (WR), Eric Holley III (WR), & Zy’Marion Lang. Toledo returning Gleason is big he had 2,793 passing yards, 24TDs, & 60.5 completion %. Just needs to cut down on the INTs to bring up QBR. The Rockets also return an OL that played tons of snaps which is huge. Vandercross also had 957 receiving yards, 5TDs, & 11.3 YPC. Zy’Marion Lang is a potential breakout WR. - On the defensive side of the ball outgoing transfers include, Jay’Quan Bostic (S) to BG, Tysen Smith (EDGE) to Indiana St., Zach Potter (DL) to Wyoming, & Jadarrius Perkins (CB). - On the defensive side of the ball incoming transfers for the Rockets include, Andrew Wilson-Lamp (CB) from ECU, Langston Long (LB) from USF, Louce Julien (EDGE) from UMass, Avery Dunn (EDGE) from MSU, Braedyn Moore (S) from Wisconsin, & Amare Snowden (CB) from Wisconsin. Julien is an excellent EDGE he had 21 solo tackles, 5 sacks, & 2 FFs. Long has the potential to get a starting LB spot, & Moore/Snowden bring in P4 talent to the secondary. - Rocket defensive players that graduated or our headed to the NFL include, Darius Alexander (DT), Jackson Barrow (LB), Zeke Blake (CB), Daniel Bolden (LB), Deshawn Holt (DE), Maxen Hook (S), D’Andre Ragin (DE), & Lance Dixon (LB). They do lose quite a bit in the LB room and a definite NFL draft pick in Darius Alexander. - Some important defensive returners include, Braden Awls (S), Nasir Bowers (CB), Jaden Dottin (S), Emmanuel McNeil-Warren (S), Avery Smith (CB), Damon Ollison II (LB), Martez Poynter (DL), Esean Carter (DL), & Malachi Davis (DE). They bring back one of the deepest if not the best secondaries in the MAC & a defensive line that has experience. - Toledo brings in the #1 recruiting class in the MAC. - Schedule wise they will play at Kentucky, WKU (Awesome game), at Washington St. & Morgan St. OOC. In MAC play they will play at WMU, BG, Miami, & CMU. At the Glass bowl they’ll host, Akron, Kent St., NIU, & Ball St. - Really like Toledo’s MAC chances this year. They return a really solid QB, a fun couple WRs and a deep OL. On defense they have a deep secondary and lots of snaps at DL. It’s impressive the talent Candle brought back in today’s CFB world for G5 programs. The transfers they got this year at the positions they got them make Toledo that much deeper. - Thank you Toledo fans for reading my blog! Comment your predictions down below.

Mario Williams is underrated, but I love how Tulane allowed him to feast on digs and deep over routes. Think that's going to be how he's utilized at the next level
