This is the truth about Drake Maye: • He won 17 games in his second season, in a year where his preseason win total was 8.5. • He took his team to the Super Bowl in Year 2. • He finished 2nd in MVP voting, again, in his second season. Season review: • 4,394 passing yards • 31 passing TDs • 8 INTs • 113.5 passer rating Did he have the most outstanding performance against the best defense in football in the Super Bowl? No. Was he even supposed to be anywhere near this game? Also no. People are so quick to want to “have a conversation” about players that it’s almost comical. This kid will do what he’s done his entire life: reflect, respond, and overcome. He will be back.

The good thing is that the Patriots went 14-3 after two seasons of just 4 wins, and they have a bright future with Drake Maye, Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels. They are a young, hungry team with the cap space to add the players they need and a stash of draft picks to add even more solid talent to the roster. This game wasn't good, and there is a lot they need to improve upon. But they're in good hands going into the 2026 offseason.
