If you are still claiming that Luke "defaulted to murder" in The Last Jedi then you literally stopped watching the movie halfway through. You are basing your entire argument on Kylo Ren’s biased memory instead of what actually happened. The movie uses the Rashomon effect which means we see the same event from three different perspectives. Kylo’s version shows a murderous assassin because that is how he felt in that moment. But the actual truth is that Luke had a momentary reflex of instinct that he immediately regretted. He never swung the saber. He never intended to kill Ben. He stopped himself because that is who Luke Skywalker is. It is wild to me that people act like Luke was never impulsive before. This is the same guy who nearly hacked Vader to pieces in a blind rage on the Death Star. The difference is that in the temple he caught himself even faster. If you hate the movie because you believed the villain’s unreliable narrator version of the story then the joke is kind of on you. Focus on the actual text instead of the memes.

@ManaByte Again...the lord's work. The same thing happened in the MCU. "Movies fell off" when actually nothing will or has beaten Endgame. Doesn't mean the movies weren't good just meant that NOTHING was BEATING ENDGAME. SW is making bank for Disney. The movies just remind people to buy.

Not every Star Wars movie can be the sequel to Return of the Jedi and the first Star Wars movie released in a decade. To pretend otherwise is insane.
