The Bhopal Municipal Corporation has ordered the closure of all meat shops within its limits on several upcoming religious occasions. Meat shops will remain completely shut on March 20 (Chaiti Chand), March 27 (Ram Navami), March 31 (Mahavir Jayanti), and May 1 (Buddha Jayanti). Delhi Police say - A missing report was registered at PS Chandni Mahal late night on 07.03.2026 regarding Arib, aged 31 years. As per family members, Arib deals in scrap tools and had left for Faridabad on 07.03.2026 with approximately Rs 2.5 lakh in cash for business purposes. He did not return home thereafter. During enquiry, it was found that Arib was last contacted by a person named Harsh (25 years). Harsh was apprehended and during questioning he stated that he had given his mobile phone to one Rahul, aged about 25 years, who was residing in a rented accommodation in Faridabad. In view of the suspicious circumstances, FIR No. 180/26 u/s 140(3) BNS (Abduction) was registered at PS Chandni Mahal on 10.03.2026. A police team was immediately dispatched to Faridabad to trace Rahul and the missing person. On reaching Faridabad, it was found that Rahul had suddenly vacated the rented premises and left for his native place in Aligarh (UP). The team of PS Chandni Mahal traced Rahul in Aligarh and brought him for questioning. During preliminary interrogation, Rahul disclosed that Arib had been murdered in Faridabad. He further revealed that one more person namely Babu was also involved in the crime. The motive appears to be a monetary dispute related to their scrap business. Subsequently, search operations were conducted in Faridabad by a joint team of Delhi Police and Faridabad Police, during which the dead body of Arib was recovered. Another team also successfully apprehended the co-accused Babu. Since the place of occurrence and recovery of the dead body fall within the jurisdiction of Faridabad Police, the case is being registered there. The accused persons have been apprehended and handed over to Faridabad Police. Further investigation will be carried out by Faridabad Police as per law.
